Kratos was very acomplished general before getting blades of chaos, I think he never lost a battle apart from the one where he got the blades, but technicaly he won that one as well because of the Ares help, he also lead his spartan armies as god of war and it took Zeus divine intervension and his almost death to stop their progress.
